MPP Vijay Thanigasalam (Scarborough-Rouge Park) organized a press briefing on 18th August 2020 to let Premier Ford announce plans for the new subway for Scarborogh Rough park with only personnel from Tamil media outlets. Questions posted to the Premier were related to Bill 104: Tamil Genocide Education Week Act.
“We’re going to get moving forward on it”
Premier Ford assured that “genocide is such a terrible terrible thing anywhere in the world”. He gave an assurance that “he was going to support this bill all the way through there”. He iterated that
“most importantly I am going to speak to deputy prime minister Christia Freeland”
It was a clear indication from Ford he will review Bill 104’s compliance and that he is seeking advice and guidance from the Federal government. Thanigasalam has since deleted his Instagram posts he published about the event. However, one of readers has submitted this image before it was deleted.
